Privacy Policy

Effective: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: June 6, 2026

grumbl. ("we," "us," "the app") is a meal-memory app for iOS. We built this app to be private by design. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

1. Who We Are

grumbl. is developed and operated by an independent developer ("the developer"). You can reach us at joongsukkie@gmail.com.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store on our servers:

All meal data you create in grumbl. is stored locally on your device (and, if you choose to enable it, in your personal iCloud — see Section 4). The developer never has access to this data.

3. Purchases

grumbl. is free to download and use. The app does not currently offer any in-app purchases or subscriptions, and we do not collect or process any payment information.

4. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If iCloud sync is enabled (now or in a future version), grumbl. uses Apple's CloudKit framework to sync your meals across the devices signed in with your Apple ID. The data is stored in your personal iCloud private database — Apple's servers, not ours. The developer cannot read this data. You can disable sync at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

grumbl. is supported by advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To select relevant ads, Google may collect:

If you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt — or do not respond — Google receives a zeroed-out identifier and shows you non-personalized contextual ads instead.

For more, see How Google uses information from its partners and the AdMob privacy notice.

6. Device Permissions

The app requests these permissions only when you use the corresponding feature:

7. Children

grumbl. is rated 4+ on the App Store but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Because virtually no data is sent to us, you have direct control:

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you also have the right to request information about, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold about you. Because we don't hold any, your request will typically result in a confirmation that no data exists. Contact us at the email above.

9. California Privacy Notice (CCPA)

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. The IDFA passed to Google AdMob, when permitted, is governed by Google's own CCPA disclosures linked in Section 5.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or via the App Store listing.
