Privacy Policy
Blur is a journaling app. Journals are private, so Blur was built around a simple rule: your data is yours, and it stays with you.
What we collect
Nothing. Blur has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no servers operated by us. We never see your entries, your photos, your voice, or anything about you.
Where your journal lives
- Entries and photos are stored on your device, inside Blur's private app container.
- iCloud backup (optional). Journal text can sync to your personal iCloud key-value storage so it survives a reinstall. This is your Apple account; we have no access to it.
- Device backups. Your journal is included in your normal iPhone backups, managed by Apple.
Microphone and speech
The voice journaling feature uses your microphone and Apple's speech recognition only while you are recording, and only to turn your words into text in your journal. Audio is not kept, and nothing is sent to us. Apple's processing is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Photos
Blur uses the system photo picker, which shares only the specific photos you choose. Blur never has access to your whole library.
Face ID
The optional app lock uses Face ID or Touch ID through Apple's LocalAuthentication system. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never visible to Blur.
Export and deletion
You can export everything as a ZIP at any time from the Journey screen. Deleting a memory removes it and its photos from your device. Deleting the app removes everything.
Children
Blur does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. There is nothing to collect.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
